1 2022-10-03 Gender Equality Travelling Film Festival 14 Women Development and Gender Equality Cell of our institution nominated 14 students of our institution to participate in the Gender Equality Travelling Film Festival organized by the Women study center of SGBAU and MAVA (Men against Violence and Abuse), Mumbai on 03/10/22 During this film festival, Natkhat, Juice, Sunday, Kharvas, and the Great Indian Kitchen” short films were shown to students. After every film discussions were done with the student related to gender sensitivity. The project coordinator of MAVA Mr. Pravin Thote communicated and discussed various issues with the students. The interactive session helped the students to understand various aspects of gender sensitization and made them aware about gender discrimination in society. The students assured that they will participate and take care to create awareness in the society.

1 2022-08-05 GENDER SENSETIZATION 472 An invited talk on Gender sensitization of Mr.Bhagwan Phalke (Asst. Professor, Women’s study center SGBAU) was organized on 05/08/22 during the students induction programme (SIP). Dr.S.R.Katke, convenor of the WDGEC introduced the guest and in her introduction speech explained the need of gender sensitization. Mr. Phalke in his talk explained the prevailing Social concepts of Gender Discrimination. He explained the difference between the sex and gender. He further emphasized the need of sensitizing the youth so that gender bias behavior in society can be minimized and further focused the youth alone can make a major difference in society. The chairperson Dr. G.D. Agrahari analyzed the concepts put forward by the speaker and concluded that the young generation must-read books and behave in a way where gender bias behavior or discrimination can be minimized. Dr. M.C Golchha conducted the programme and proposed vote of thanks. In all 472 students benefited by the lecture.

2 2023-03-08 International Women Day 139 An eminent guest lecture was organized on the event of International Women Day (08/03/2023) by the women development and gender equality cell of the institution. The guest speaker Dr. Mangala K. Kulkarni, Former Principal, of Chhatrapati Shivaji Arts College, Ashegaon purna delivered her guest lecture on women empowerment. The speaker elaborated a number of examples from history and made it dear to students that age is not a limiting factor for education. There is a lot of change in the social structure. They should take advantage of opportunities and make themselves empowered. She also guided the students to have a strong positive attitude, should take responsibility for the task, should not be lazy, and should face challenges, this is the only way to empowerment. Girls were benefited by the guidance of the speaker, principal and organizer. They get motivated by the various examples which developed in them the confidence to face challenges. In all 84 students, 50 teaching staff and 5 non-teaching staff participated in the event.

3 2023-03-08 Essay Competition 106 An essay competition was organized on the event of International Women's Day as per the direction of the Police Station, Rajapeth. The topic for the essay competition was "Aajachi Stree Kharach Mukt Aahe Ka?". The essay competition was arranged for I, II, and IIIrd year student. 106 students participated in the competition. Evaluation of the essay was done by the faculty of the Department of Language and the best 3 essays were given prizes. PI Ms. Swati Pawar of Rajapeth police station guided the students on the occasion on cyber security while the Incharges of the event made the arrangements for smooth conduction.

4 2022-08-17 Two Week Self Defense Training Programme in Karate 37 Women Development and gender equality cell organized a two-week self-defense training programme in karate for the girls of the institute from 17/08/2022 to 31/08/2022. To impart the techniques regarding self-defense, and to keep girls healthy with a strong physique and focused mind this karate training was organized. The training included routine and daily warm-up, exercises, and meditation. The various karate steps and techniques which were given to girls include punches, kicks and katas. The girls were trained in upper, middle and lower punches as well as upper, middle, and lower kicks. They also mastered in katas. After the training, the girls got trained in self-defense training of karate. They also improved their health standard and become more focused which helped them in their studies also. In all 119 girls registered for the training and 37 girls completed the training. Mrs. Jyoti Kundwani was the trainer while Lt. Dr. S.R. Katke was In-charge and organizer of the event.

5 2023-04-11 Mahatma Phule Jayanti 300+ On the occasion of the 196th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the Women Development and Gender Equality Cell of Brijlal Biyani Science College organized a guest lecture on the topic “Women Right’s and The Constitution of India”. In the introductory speech, the convenor of WDGEC explained the concept of women development and gender equality cell and focused on the work done by social reformers, and the activist Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. She explained how Jyotiba started his social revolution on his own by teaching and educating his wife Savitribai Phule and then making her the teacher who worked for girl’s education throughout her life. Guest speaker Mrs. Priti Chirde of the Sankalp Foundation delivered her guest speech on the rights of women and the Indian Constitution. She explained the various articles of the constitution which provide protection, equality, and rights to women. She also mentioned some examples to explain to student in a simple manner. Dr.D.S.Dhote, Principal of the college, in his presidential address elaborated on the work done by Mahatma Phule and mentioned the hardships they took to impart education in that rigid period. He advised students to take every opportunity to keep updated in knowledge sector. The students benefitted from the event. They learned the different articles of the constitution which are concerned with women's rights. Boys also learned the various amendments under which they should take care of refraining from dowry and atrocities on women. The program was conducted by Ms. Shruti Mishra, Mr. Ram Dhokane introduced the guest speaker while Sanghamitra Virghat proposed a vote of thanks. In all 300+ students benefitted from the lecture.

6 2023-01-03 Guest lecture on Savitribai- jyotiba :Ling samaanateche Adarsha udaaharan Savitribai-jyotiba: An ideal example of gender equality 74 An invited lecture on the topic “Savitribai -Jyotiba: ling samaanateche aadarsha udaaharan” was organized by the women development and gender equality cell and NSS on the occasion of birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule Jayanti (Baalika din) on 3/1/2023. During the introductory speech, the convenor of WDGEC mentioned the stressful life of Savitribai and Jyotiba and also recited a poem of Savitribai. The guest speaker Mrs. Sarika Wankhade, Manager, BHS in her speech explained the topic by giving examples from the life of Savitribai and Jyotiba. She elaborated on the various situations in their life where this social reformer couple proved their implementation of gender equality. With the strong support of Jyotiba, Savitribai made her own identity and proved herself to be the best teacher of that time. The speaker further emphasized that the true tribute to Savitribai will be by contributing in every possible way to bring gender equality, starting from our own self, then at our own home, at school and in society. Ultimately this will help at the national level to bring gender equality. The other speaker Dr. Laxmi Sharma of the Department of Physics explained the versatile personality of Savitribai Phule. She emphasized on simple, hard work, straightforward administrative capabilities. Chairperson Dr. D. S. Dhote explained the hardships of the life of Savitribai and motivated the staff to take the initiative for arranging the various program on the birth anniversaries to enlighten students with their work. Prof. in charge, NSS proposed a vote of thanks. In all 74 staff members participated in the programme.
