Shri brijlal biyani Shiksha Samiti, Amravati had established Brijlal Biayni Science College in 1972 which has became a prestigious institution of Vidharbha with highest academic records. The success encouraged the Society to set up the Commerce and Management education with the objective to provide strong foundation to students in business administrations and management, in financial, accounting,Taxation & Banking.

The College has started three year full time undergraduate course Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) since 2001-2002 with intake of 80 students which has increased upto 120 students til today. The College has started another undergraduate course Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) in Computer Application since the session 2010-2011 with intake of 80 students which has also increased upto 120 students til today. The College has also started Post -graduate course Master of Commerce (M.Com) since 2016-2017 with permissible intake of 80 students

Income Tax Day 2019-07-24 140 Income Tax Day was celebrated in the college on 24th July 2019, under the chairmanship of Dr. D. S. Dhote, Principal. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ajay Kulkarni addressed the students. He pointed out the advantages of paying the tax. He also emphasised that as responsible citizens we all should pay tax honestly. Tax is the source of revenue for the Government. 140 students benefitted from this seminar. The program was conducted by Mrs. S. P. Nibjiya and vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. N. J. Honrao.

Seminar on GDPI 2020-01-04 105 Group Discussion & Personal Interview Department of Commerce and Management had organized a Seminar on GDPI for the students of BBA, B.com and M Com on 4/01/2020. The objective of organizing this seminar was to enlighten the student about the significance of GDPI for entering the professional world. The phase of professional job starts with clearing the rounds of GDPI. Therefore it is necessary that students should be informed and trained so that they can appear the GDPI round professionally. The speaker for the seminar was Mr. Kaustubh Sapre. He is presently associated with seed InfoTech PVT Ltd as a faculty of soft skills and communication English. He is also having the experience of working with Maharashtra center for entrepreneurship development (MCED), Institute of Banking & Personal Services (IBPS). He has also worked as a soft skill trainers at Indira Gandhi Institute of Aeronautics Nagpur. Principal Dr. D.S.Dhote Sir motivated the students by his presence and guidance. He elucidated the students about the importance of GDPI and to create the interest in different activities to develop various skills. Mrs.N.J.Honrao, Head, Department of Commerce & Management, welcomed Mr. Sapre and Mrs. M.A.Bhuptani introduced the speaker and the topic of lecture to the students. In his lecture Mr. Sapre discussed about the Meaning of “persona” which means wearing a mask and being a human being we wear the different mask such as of a son, father, mother, student etc.while wearing the mask of student it is essential that once should try to enhance the knowledge of various topics of current trend and education. Being informative speaker he then shared his different experiences in real life. He also expressed his opinion on the way people comment on social media and to give a thought on necessity of it. He then explained about the group discussion. Different types of GD. How GD is important during the selection process of a job. He explained that GD helps to reject the group of students it means the students who are not participative are rejected and rest of students are selected for the next round. Therefore it is important to participate and express the views during group discussion. Having the comprehensive experience of being a part of panel of GDPI he explained the students about the Do’s and Don’ts forparticipation during the group discussion such as the way students should be participative, views expressed should be related to topic etc. and one should not argue with the panel to keep one’s views. The activity of mock GD was conducted where 4 girls & 4 boys participated. The topic given to them was “Black is Black & White is White”. The students expressed their view about the topic and a healthy discussion was held. Other students from audience also expressed their view for the topic. Then MrSapre explained about the Personal interview and the preparation to be done for appearing the interview. Such as one should carry all the required documents, reach to the place of interview before time, one should be properly dressed i.e. wear formals, either give the proper reply to the question asked or be quite but don’t speak otherwise etc. The session was interactive and it helped to acquirethe proper knowledge for attending an interview also helped the students to build a positive attitude and motivated them to achieve the success. 105 students along with the staff members of department of commerce and management were present for the seminar. Session was ended with vote of thanks that was given by Mrs. G.A.Mohata.

Aavishkaar 2020-01-07 13 Every year Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University organizes District level and University level Aavishkaar competition. The objective behind this competition is to encourage the research work and presentation skill of students, research scholars and teachers. This year also SGBAU had organized district level competition which was held on 7th January 2020 at Bhartiya Mahavidyalaya, Amravati. Total 13 participants of Department of Commerce and Management i.e. of B.B.A., B.Com and M.Com, participated for this competition. They were guided by Mrs M.A.Bhuptani under the activity of Research Club which is formed by department of commerce and management. Here the students are explained about the significance of research and research methodology so that students can prepare the different presentations for seminars, debate, PowerPoint competition and activity like Aavishkar. Students had selected different topics to participate for the competition such as Small Scale Business-A step ahead towards creativity, Citizen Amendment Bill, Waste management: Crisis and solution, Filing Return of GST, Marketing Effect of GST on Product value, Start Up Solutions 3D Printing, etc. Students prepared chart or model for the selected topics and the power point presentation for it. The preparation of the topic was based on research done by them. The steps in research included Selection of topic, its objective, preparing questionnaire and collection of primary data by getting filled the questionnaire and secondary data from books, articles and internet and finally the conclusion for the selected topic that was based on research done by them. Mrs N J Honrao, Head Department of commerce and management motivated the students by providing the required facilities to the students to prepare chart/models. Mrs M A Bhuptani and Ms S R Tiwari channeled the students for selection of topic and preparing the presentations. Through the participation students got to learn about the preparation of Research topic,techniques of presentation etc. SGBAU motivated the students by giving them the certificate of participation.

Personal selling activity 2020-01-10 25 Shri Brijlal Biyani Science College, Commerce & Management dept. conducts various activities for their students every year. During 2019-2020 sessions, B.B.S.C. has put forth “PERSONAL SELLING’ activity dated 09/01/2020 & 10/01/2020 organized for B.B.A. & B.COM 2nd & 3rd year students under the supervision of Mrs. Gayatri A. Mohata, Mr. Sachin Warokar & Mrs. Deepa Madghe. The object of this activity is to get the personal as well as practical experience of business environment, to manage marketing activities and competitors, communication skill and to make profit through applying various strategies. There were in all 25 students, who have participated in this activity. The students have utilized the below products for experience the activity……… Pen, Face wash, Jewelry, Hairpins & bows, Back pins, Nail paints, Earrings, Purses, Clutch, hand bag, Ladies Socks, Handkerchief, Popcorn, Sandwich, Puri chat, Vadapav, Kacchi Bhel, Raw papaya pan, Cadbury & Biscuits, Chana Catpata, Handmade Chocolates, Mobile Accessories, and many more. The students have gathered enormous experience pertaining to purchasing of products, fixing of selling price, calculating expenses incurred & profit earned. Some of the students have earned profit up to 50% to 85% in two days activity. This activity has helped the students to know better about their subject as well as market customs. There were 250 students of college take benefit of this activity. The students had, time to time approached & consulted us & we had suggested & guided the students which helped them to bring successes to the activity. The said achievement was not possible without the support of our Hon’ble Principal Dr. Deepak Dhote & H.O.D. of Commerce & Management dept. Mrs. Nita Honrao. We thank the persons who have directly & indirectly supported for the success of the ‘PERSONAL SELLING’ activity.

Teachers Day Celebration 2019-09-05 125 Teacher’s day celebration was held on 5th Sep 2019 in our College auditorium. In these celebration students of BBA/B.Com part I and Part II took active role to conduct this event. On this day students celebrate the contribution of teachers in their lives. Every year students celebrate teacher’s day in a unique manner. Teachers were welcome to a auditorium decorated with colorful flowers and rangolis. On this day students prepare games and culture program especially for teachers or can say that task is given to teachers by students Teachers were ask to say any dialog or sing a song. Fashion show was arranged for teachers with traditional wear of any states. And many more games were arranges for teachers One game was such that teachers had to eat Karvand(Carandas plum) which are sour in taste without showing any expression on face . Teachers enjoyed that game eating all Karvanda just like chocolate Another game was couple game, in which two teachers played together .In this game one chit was given to teacher they have to draw the character mention in that chit and another teacher should identify that character. All teachers enjoyed this game also This is how teacher’s day was celebrated in our college. A token of love i.e Pen was given from students to all teachers. In this way our student coordinates and planned and implements their activities properly. Our Principal Dr.Dhote Sir and H.O.D Neeta Honrao Madam provide every end of support and assistant to make this event successfully. 125 students were present on that day. We thank to all our students for arranging such a nice activity.

This year the subject society was inaugurated on 11th January, 2020 by Dr.Surendra Jichkar, Principal, Dhanwate National College, Nagpur. Formation of subject society aims to share responsibility and involve students in the organization of various activities.

Seminar on communication skill 2019-10-10 100 Department of commerce and management had organized a Seminar on Communication and Soft skills which was conducted on 10th October, 2019. The objective to organize the seminar was to inform the students about the values of effective and impressive communication and soft skills for making career in this competitive world. Mr. RohitPandey, faculty, ICFAI Business School, Nagpur was invited to interact and train the students for the said topic.Mrs. N. J. Honrao had arranged this seminar and Mrs. M.A.Bhuptani conducted the same. MrRohitPandey a post graduate from RTMNU has 12 years of rich experiences in management education industry. He is having the experience of working with NIMs, being one of the oldest institutions in India and later on he worked with different institute of management and engineering. He is specialized in conducting and mentoring sessions in various colleges of management. His area of interest is guiding inspiring and mentoring students to develop their career. Currently he is working with ICFAI business school as a branch manager at Nagpur. MrPandey explained that along with the technical skill it has become very much necessary to have effective communication skills so that you can strongly express your views and thoughts in this professional world The main emphasis of the seminar was onprominence of written and oral communication in English. To enrich the communication aptitude once should have the habit of reading English articles, Books, newspaper etc. It also helps to increase the speaking skill with good lexis. He also gave the importance on listening English music/ songs to have good articulations. Further he explained the eminence of soft skills. Soft skill is an ability to interact amicably with others. Strong soft skill ensures a prolific, collaborative and healthy work environment and helps to gain confidence to present one’s views more amicably. On the other hand lack of soft skill can limit your potential. The complete session was interactive and students were involved in discussion and encouraged to ask question and were satisfactorily answered by Mrpandey. The main objective of this interaction was to enlighten the students to understand correct English and develop soft skill and grooming manners Through the seminar students got to learn about developing strong communication skills, leadership, teamwork and soft skills which will benefit them to hold a position in their career. Along with all the staff members of department of commerce and management,100 students were present for the seminar.

Webinar on How to start Start-Up by Vivek Bindra 2020-08-15 BBA &B.Com A webinar was arranged on How to start a start up on 15th August 2020. CEO of BadaBusiness.com, Dr. Vivek Bindra was the speaker. The YouTube link was shared with the students. Dr. Bindra covered various success strategies for entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. He also gave the strategies to his audience to bounce back post corona. He gave a golden statement to the students "The more your money works for you the less you have to work for money. " He also elaborated how to use technology for speed and scale, he also explained Management by Absence, what he called as MBA. He also emphasized on continuous improvement, development and learning. He also cited some examples for the better understanding of the audience. He said it is equally important that you know how to tackle and handle your clients. He also emphasized that if you give more than what you promised to your clients, they will promise you lifetime value. In this world of gateways of information, how you utilize the information determines your success or failure. The object to encourage the young blood towards making of entrepreneurs and solopreneurs was widely achieved through this webinar. The webinar was open foe the general public also. Modiji's vocal for local can be achieved by such motivational and guiding webinars.
