Computer Science Department was established in 1999. The main objectives of the department are to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of Computer Science, to prepare students for jobs in Industry, Business, Government sector and Research. Department constitute Computer Science society with subject topper students to raise the spirits of the students. Computer Science Society organizes various departmental activities like Skill development Program, Quiz Competition, Projects, Poster Presentation and Competition, Workshop, Seminar hearten the students.
P.G. Department of Computer Science
The college has three year full time undergraduate course Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Computer Science) with intake of 120 students per year and Bachelor of Science (BCA) with intake of 120 students per year. The college has started Postgraduate Course Master of Computer Science (M.Sc. Computer Science) from year 2018 with intake capacity 20 students per year. Departments three labs with well equipped and furnished as state of the art with all instruments required to carry out practical sessions as per the syllabus and carry out research projects. We have highly qualified and experienced teaching faculties. Department has heritage of meritorious students at U. G. levels. Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati has organized one day Expert talk on the 7th January 2020 in College Auditorium. Dr. D. S. Dhote (Principle) and all the Faculty Members and Post Graduate students were present for this program.
Dr. D. S. Dhote delivered his in house lecture on Choice Base Credit System(CBCS). In this guest lecture Dr. D. S. Dhote has given deep knowledge about CBCS system. He also motivates the students to take the extra subjects for study under CBCS scheme of University, so it may help them to achieve their goal. He also gave all the information of CBCS system at Post Graduation level. He mentioned that by using this system students also increase their credits of PG Result. In this session, he gave detailed information about different paper selection according to the student’s core of interest, so they will score & acquired more skill in respective subjects.
All the students took actively participation in this talk and ask their quarries regarding this system. Dr. D. S. Dhote also motivates all the PG students and asks them to take more advantage of CBCS and Post Graduate students of Electronics Department took actively participation. Mr. Shrikant Ardhapurkar., Cyber Forensic Expert, Nagpur was speaker. Dr. V. S. Tondre HOD and Ms.V.V.Thakare Assistant Coordinator present on Google Meet. In this lecture total 110 students were participated.
In this Invited Talk Mr. Shrikant Ardhapurkar explained, the legislation governing the cyber space is the Information Technology Act 2000 (“IT Act”) which defines cyber security as protecting information, equipment, devices, computer, computer resource, communication device and information stored there in from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. legal recognition and protection for transactions carried out through electronic data and other means of electronic communication, the IT Act and various rules made there under, also focus on information security. After the session, questions are asked to clear doubts regarding Cyber Security.

He also explained about Digital Forensic Process, Properties of Digital Evidence and Examples of Digital Evidence. They also give information regarding future scope in Digital Forensic to students. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Pradhnya Kamble, Senses Electronics (P) Ltd. Dr. V. S. Tondre, Convener and Dr. S. S. Kuthe, Co-convener. In this workshop total 40 teaching faculties were participated from all the departments.
In this workshop, the resource person explained how interactive smart board is used? and provide hands on practice session. Such as, how to use as classroom tool, interact with the images directly on the screen using a tool or even a finger, connection of computer to the internet or a local network, access information around the world, quick search and find a lesson used previously. It opens up the students to collaboration and closer interaction to the lessons. Multimedia content can be shared and used in lectures, keeping students engaged.

A webinar was conducted on 6th August, 2020 on the topic "Important Life Lessons are often out of Syllabus". Dr. Prachi Agrawal, HoD of Mathematics of Brijlal Biyani Science College was the distinguished speaker. This webinar was taken through zoom and only 100 participants could join it and many missed the opportunity to listen to this lecture.
It was indeed a very insightful and motivational session. Dr. Agrawal. She covered all the important points which are the need of hour. There is so much uncertainty and chaos all around. Considering the scenario and what the students are going through, she covered all the points appropriately.
The truth is that no life Lessons and skills are covered in the curriculum which are essential for survival. A webinar was conducted on 6th August, 2020 on the topic "Important Life Lessons are often out of Syllabus". Dr. Prachi Agrawal, HoD of Mathematics of Brijlal Biyani Science College was the distinguished speaker. This webinar was taken through zoom and only 100 participants could join it and many missed the opportunity to listen to this lecture.
It was indeed a very insightful and motivational session. Dr. Agrawal. She covered all the important points which are the need of hour. There is so much uncertainty and chaos all around. Considering the scenario and what the students are going through, she covered all the points appropriately.
The truth is that no life Lessons and skills are covered in the curriculum which are essential for survival.
