Computer Science


Computer Science Department was established in 1999. The main objectives of the department are to prepare students for graduate training in some specialized area of Computer Science, to prepare students for jobs in Industry, Business, Government sector and Research. Department constitute Computer Science society with subject topper students to raise the spirits of the students. Computer Science Society organizes various departmental activities like Skill development Program, Quiz Competition, Projects, Poster Presentation and Competition, Workshop, Seminar hearten the students.

P.G. Department of Computer Science

The college has three year full time undergraduate course Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Computer Science) with intake of 120 students per year and Bachelor of Science (BCA) with intake of 120 students per year. The college has started Postgraduate Course Master of Computer Science (M.Sc. Computer Science) from year 2018 with intake capacity 20 students per year. Departments three labs with well equipped and furnished as state of the art with all instruments required to carry out practical sessions as per the syllabus and carry out research projects. We have highly qualified and experienced teaching faculties. Department has heritage of meritorious students at U. G. levels. Teaching and Learning process of the department is through lectures, practical’s, home assignments, projects, posters and question-answer method with the effective use of ICT’s

Cyber Security and IT Act 2021-08-28 110 P.G. Department of Computer Science was organized Online Invited Talk for all students of college on “Cyber Security and IT Act” 28th August 2021.at 3:00 p.m. on Zoom Meeting. Mr. Shrikant Ardhapurkar., Cyber Forensic Expert, Nagpur was speaker. Dr. V. S. Tondre HOD and Ms.V.V.Thakare Assistant Coordinator present on Google Meet. In this lecture total 110 students were participated. In this Invited Talk Mr. Shrikant Ardhapurkar explained, the legislation governing the cyber space is the Information Technology Act 2000 (“IT Act”) which defines cyber security as protecting information, equipment, devices, computer, computer resource, communication device and information stored there in from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction. legal recognition and protection for transactions carried out through electronic data and other means of electronic communication, the IT Act and various rules made there under, also focus on information security. After the session, questions are asked to clear doubts regarding Cyber Security. To organized the Invited Talk Dr. V. S. Tondre, HOD and Ms. V.V.Thakare Assistant Coordinator and non-teaching Staff of the department were supported to successfully complete the program. In last session of the program. Digital Forensic 2021-08-03 85 P.G. Department of Computer Science was organized Online Invited Talk for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students of the department. The title of the Invited Talk was “Digital Forensic” scheduled on 03rd August 2021 at 1:00 p.m. on Google Meet. The resource person was Dr. Arjun V. Mane., Assistant Professor, Govt. Institute of Forensic Science, Nagpur. Dr. V. S. Tondre, HOD, Ms. V. V. Thakare, Assistant Coordinator, Ms. R. S. Gupta, Secretary Computer Science Society and other members of the Computer Science Society were present on Google Meet. In all 85 students were participated in the program. In this Invited Talk Dr. Arjun V. Mane. sir explained about Digital Forensic Work, Introduction of Digital Forensic What is the need of Digital Forensic? He also explained about Digital Forensic Process, Properties of Digital Evidence and Examples of Digital Evidence. They also give information regarding future scope in Digital Forensic to students. Through this lecture students got new era and ideas about Digital Forensic and understood the hacking and theft on internet. After the session, students clear their doubts regarding digital forensic. Ms. Dharti Kharapkar conducted the program, Ms. Samiksha Umberkar introduced guest and vote of thanks presented by Ms. Mansi Baccha.

Hands on Practice on Interactive Board for E-Learning 2021-01-21 Department of Computer Science organized one day workshop on “Hands on Practice on Interactive Board for E-Learning” on dated 21st Jan. 2021 under Digital Initiative and Learning Management System. In the Inauguration, the Chairperson for the program was Principal Dr. D.S. Dhote, Shri. Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Pradhnya Kamble, Senses Electronics (P) Ltd. Dr. V. S. Tondre, Convener and Dr. S. S. Kuthe, Co-convener. In this workshop total 40 teaching faculties were participated from all the departments. In this workshop, the resource person explained how interactive smart board is used? and provide hands on practice session. Such as, how to use as classroom tool, interact with the images directly on the screen using a tool or even a finger, connection of computer to the internet or a local network, access information around the world, quick search and find a lesson used previously. It opens up the students to collaboration and closer interaction to the lessons. Multimedia content can be shared and used in lectures, keeping students engaged. In the last session, vote of thanks presented by Dr. S. S. Kuthe.

Students who score the higher marks in the subject in each class were selected as members of society. There is total 11 members of the Computer Science Society. It includes activities like Poster Presentation, Seminar, Workshop, Faculty Development Programs, Extension Activity, Quizzes, Topper Students Felicitation etc. P.G. Department of Computer Science organized the Online Inauguration of Computer Science Society on 03rd August 2021 at 12:00 noon in online mode on Google Meet. In the Inauguration of the program, the Chairperson for the program was Principal Dr. D.S. Dhote, Shri. Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati. The Chief Guest was Dr. Arjun V. Mane., Assistant Professor, Govt. Institute of Forensic Science, Nagpur, Dr. V. S. Tondre, HOD, and Ms.V.V.Thakare, Assistant Coordinator, Ms. Renuka S. Gupta Secretary Computer Science Society present on Google Meet. The Computer Science Society were felicitated the students who score the highest marks in the subject. Three topper Students from M.Sc. I, II and five topper students from B.Sc. I, II, III were felicitated. In this Program total 90 students were participated from Computer Science Department. Through this meeting chief guest guide students about Digital Forensic and the development tools. Digital Initiative and Learning Management System 2020-07-29 As college has now own Learning Management System, the training program “Training and Demonstration of College Learning Management System (LMS)” was organized for all Senior College Teaching Staff members, under Digital Initiative and Learning Management System on dated 29th July 2020. In the Inauguration, the Chairperson for the program was Principal Dr. D.S. Dhote, Shri. Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati. In all 28 staff members were participated the training program. In this training program, the resource person had demonstrated the creation and login using user-id and password for LMS, creation of chapter in the subject. They covered the practical purpose of performing C,C++ and Java Programs in Raspberry Pi Environment. It was syllabus-oriented sessions to students. Students understood all the concepts of handling RaspberryPi kit,performing programs in C,C++, java envirnment,comands related with that as well as navigation and file handling inRaspberry operating system . Tondre HOD, Ms.V.V.Thakare, Assistant Coordinator and Ms. M.R.Shingane Assistant Coordinator was Co-Convener. The main objective to conduct this course was to build the knowledge about new edge Programming technology. The inaugural program was conducted in presence of Dr. D.S. Dhote Principal Brijlal Biyani Science College, Amravati , Dr. V.S. Tondre, HOD Computer Science, Ms. V.V. Thakare, Assistant Coordinator, Ms. M. R. Shingane, Assistant Coordinator and other Faculty Members. The welcome talk was presented by Ku. Samiksha Umbarkar student M.Sc.-I and at the day of certificate distribution Ku. Priyanka Thakur, Student M.Sc.-I, present’s the vote of thanks. In this Course total 82 students were participated from College Campus and one from non-teaching staff of college. In this Course, faculties, took efforts to explained basic to advance topics of Python Programming, like Program structure, different frameworks for python programming, various control statements, object oriented programming, data/File Handling, database connectivity, libraries/Modules and one mini project . Webinar on Important Life Lessons are often out of Syllabus 2020-08-06 100 A webinar was conducted on 6th August, 2020 on the topic "Important Life Lessons are often out of Syllabus". Dr. Prachi Agrawal, HoD of Mathematics of Brijlal Biyani Science College was the distinguished speaker. This webinar was taken through zoom and only 100 participants could join it and many missed the opportunity to listen to this lecture. It was indeed a very insightful and motivational session. Dr. Agrawal. She covered all the important points which are the need of hour. There is so much uncertainty and chaos all around. Considering the scenario and what the students are going through, she covered all the points appropriately. The truth is that no life Lessons and skills are covered in the curriculum which are essential for survival. Dr. Agrawal covered the various Life Lessons viz., adapting and accepting change, having patience, avoiding to influenced by negative talks, being organized, living in the present moment and reminding positive. She elaborated each lesson with a distinctive story and incident. She emphasized that the students take this opportunity given to them by covid and take full advantage and develop themselves. A very inspiring session which was beneficial not only to the students but also the faculty members.

Workshop on Software Testing 2023-04-29 29 Ours the Computer Science Society of Department of Computer Science was organized One Day Workshop for M.Sc. Students on “Hands on practice of Software Testing” on dated 29th April. 2023 at 12:00 noon.to 3:00 p.m. in Computer Lab III. Mr. Pankaj Sangvi, Veer IT Technology, Nagpur, was resource person. In all total 29 students from M.Sc. (Computer Science and Electronics) and 4 Staff members were participated. He covered the content of the syllabus from Software Testing and gave hands on practice of the tools which were used for Software Testing. It was syllabus-oriented sessions to students. Students understood the concepts of Software testing. He also guide regarding carrier and opportunities in software Testing. To organized the Workshop Dr. V. S. Tondre, HOD and Ms. V.V. Thakare, Assistant Coordinator, Ms. V. S. Asawa took efforts. Ms. Priyanka Thakur was introduced the guest and Ms. Pragati Suda present the vote of thanks in the program.

Workshop on Skill Enhancement 2022-10-19 102 Ours the Computer Science Society of Department of Computer Science was organized under science forum for B.Sc. I & M.Sc. I students on “Skill enhancement Module” on dated 19th October 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in college auditorium. Mr. Y. V. Hushare, Assistant Professor, Shri. Shivaji Science College, Amravati, was speaker. Dr. V. S. Tondre HOD and Ms. V. V. Thakare, Assistant Coordinator, Ms. M. R. Shingane Assistant Coordinator, Ms. V. S. Asawa, Assistant Coordinator present. In this lecture total 102 students were participated. In this seminar, Mr. Y. V. Hushare, explained about the preliminary information about skill enhancement module. Explain about the information of skill enhancement module for students. . Ms. Priyanka Thakur(M.Sc II) was introduced the guest and Ms. Samiksha Umbarkar(M.Sc II) present the vote of thanks in the program.
